春江水暖 Duck 先知
Witnessing the GPT Moment of Robotics.
A field log of Microduck, agentic robotics, and my journey into the physical AI era.
Follow the current01Why I'm here
To document the moment robotics gets warm — before it does.
The river is the technology. Spring is the moment robots stop being demos. The duck is a small opening I can put a hand through to feel the water.
Three currents — industry, Microduck, and me. They meet, and keep going.
Hover or focus a node to trace how one change moves through the water.
02Water temperature
The water is getting warmer.
One subjective reading of how close the field feels to its GPT moment. It moves slowly, and so far only one way.
34.2°C
Rising — but not spring yet.
水在变暖,但还没到春天。
Does this make the water warmer?
Warmer ↑ · Neutral → · Colder ↓
- Long-context reasoning stops being fragile Warmer ↑
- Learned locomotion on cheap actuators Warmer ↑
- Open robot platforms reach research grade Warmer ↑
03Why this duck
A small entry point into a big shift.
Cheap, open, hackable — a way to put a hand in the water now, while the field is still forming.
- Minimal open-source bipedal robot
- Pollen Robotics
- Learned locomotion runs on-device
- Pollen Robotics GitHub
- Hackable — meant to be taken apart
- Design intent
My take The bottleneck is no longer intelligence — it's grounding. Cheap open robots are how many people get to work on grounding at once.
04Manifesto
I don't know when spring will come.
I just want to be in the water when it does.
我不知道春天何时到来。
但我希望那一天到来时,我已经在水里。
